Drummer and beat maker Karriem Riggins is set to release a 34 track instrumental album for the mighty Stones Throw records this October; Detroit born Riggins came to prominence by playing alongside jazz greats such as Donald Byrd, Cedar Walton, Bobby Hutcherson, Kenny Burrell, Ron Carter & Gary Bartz as well as for producing for hip hop legends like Slum Village, Erykah Badu, J Dilla, Mad-Lib, The Roots & Talib Kweli amongst a host of others. The album entitled ‘Alone Together‘ will however be Riggins’ debut solo long player and will showcase nearly every influence within his career thus far.
If the LP is as good as this taster, then one word comes to mind: FIYA!
