It’s funny to think of Dubstep music as old. But looking back to when I got into it towards the end of 2005, there has been a lot of progression from the early days. By that I mean the producers who interest me most have almost come full circle back to garage while incorporating elements from other genres like house and IDM. I really don’t want to come off like one of those guys who writes like they have a ‘degree in Dubstep’ so all I’ll say is that to see how far things have come, and with so much focus on ‘new’, it’s sometimes nice to look back.

Here is a mix of tunes from 2005-07. It’s by no means definitive, more a selection of tracks that did it for me standing too close to the speakers in a dark club.
