On Friday 3rd of August Rootikal and Reggae Roast come together to recognize 50 years of Jamaican independence with a very special dance featuring a live PA from one of the all-time greats, namely CORNELL CAMPBELL.

Many of you will be very familiar with Cornell’s distinctive, soulful sound and the many wonderful and enduring songs he’s voiced over fifty-plus years in the business. His career began at Coxsone Dodd’s Studio One, where he recorded his first track at the age of eleven. Before long he’d also recorded with Duke Reid, Striker Lee and Joe Gibbs, initially as the Sensations, then the Eternals, before going solo under his own name. He’s still very active todayAdd an event for today, having recently worked with France’s Irie Ites and Germany’s Rhythm & Sound. It really is an absolute honour for us to have the man down to Rootikal and we can’t wait to hear his legendary soulful voice on the night.
