BIAS & GURLEY – ROLL

Posted by JASSET

ZED BIAS

Two pioneers from the UK underground – Steve Gurley and Zed Bias combine with devastating effect. Keysound have come up with the goods in spectacular fashion here. The track references the sounds that earn’t them their respective statuses, while at the same time sounding fresh. Meanwhile on the flip, Blackdown’s ‘Debt Repaid’ remix points firmly to the future. Massive.

DAMU – KEYSOUND RECORDINGS

Posted by OUZO

Just been put onto this guy by DARK ARX, Keysound Recording’s newest signing. Just having a skim through his Soundcloud page and have picked out these tracks that I think are noteworthy, “Be Free” and “Ridin’” being the standout tracks for me. Could be good stuff to come from this guy.

Enjoy.

SBTRKT & SAMPHA – BREAK OFF

Posted by OUZO

Big EP, big vocals, big melodies, big everything, I am really feeling this! SBTRKT is defo one to watch, I have been watching over this guy for a while after being impressed by a remix of his for Fantastic Mr Fox, ‘Sketches’, and have eagerly been awaiting more since reading a very interesting interview with him conducted by Blackdown (click here). He began the year with a tasty remix for José James on the ‘Warrior EP’ and also collaborated on a more techy tip with Sinden, which is also pretty good by the way.

This EP is something else, in an evolving genre of UK bass music, SBTRKT’s own sound also seems to be evolving with every release. Great listen, give it a go…

KOWTON MIX FOR BLACKDOWN

Following up my earlier post on Idle Hands, I thought you would throw in a little mix Kowtown made for Blackdown a while back, one I rather like!

Happy listening…
