New joint from Blawan coming out on R&S in October, oh my. I can’t tell you how much I love this guy right now. All of his productions sound like they are about to come away at the seams, semi fall apart, but in a good way. Acid Techno, yes.

A new bit from Blawan here, dropping a remix on Beastie Respond‘s new single, Syncopy. This track lives in the darker realms of electronic music, a rolling techno sound with crunchy percussion and some big bass thrown in there too. The track really comes to life at around 3 minutes and is well worth the wait. We were writing about Blawan very early on and he is definitely delivering on his early promise. Great work form the Barnsley boy.
Curated by the imprint’s three co-founders – Ben UFO, Pangaea and Pearson Sound (AKA Ramadanman) – the CD version is comprised of 12 brand new tracks tracks, with contributions from every single producer who’s previously released a 12″ on Hessle Audio, plus other guests, and a second disc collecting previously released highlights from the catalogue.
Brand new tracks from Pangaea and Pearson Sound but also Blawan, Joe, Elgato, Untold, Cosmin TRG, Peverelist, James Blake and Addison Groove, and a couple of unexpected treats – such as D1‘s never-before-released archive cut ‘Subzero’ and a killer from the hitherto little-known Randomer. Most of the tracks on Disc 2 are modern dancefloor classics, and hardly require any introduction – among them Martyn’s eerily suspended, deeply affecting remix of TRG’s ‘Broken Heart’, Untold’s none-more-livewire ‘I Can’t Stop This Feeling’, Pangaea’s ‘Why’ and James Blake’s ‘Buzzard & Kestrel’ (a track he’s arguably yet to better).
The new tracks will be on the vinyl edition of 116 & Rising, which is a 3 x 12″; with beautiful artwork on both CD and vinyl editions is by Will Bankhead.
The Hessle gang are also having a launch party at London’s XOYO club on Friday 13th May.

Originally from the Barnsley area, producer and DJ Jamie Roberts a.k.a ‘Blawan’ comes with one release under his arm on the prolific Hessle Audio label, is now releasing a 3-track EP on the illustrious R&S Records roster for the release of his next 12″. This slab of vinyl will hold three tracks from the low-end lover, including title track “Bohla,” “Kaz,” and “Lavender,” and is set to drop on at the end of February. Sadly “Getting Me Down” (featured above) has no current release date due to the Brandy sample… but its a sure thing this will get you dancing!

The last one being a personal favourite, and classic!!!!! Tracklist is below…

TRACKLIST
1: TONYA RENEE: About You (Karizma Boucha Remix)
2: TRACKHEADZ FEAT ZAKI: feel (Vocal Mix)
3: JOY ORBISON: The Shrew Would Have Cushioned The Blow (Original Mix)
This is EP by Blawan, a 22-year-old producer from Barnsley, Yorkshire, is Hessle Audio’s thirteenth and another for record bag in my opinion! Blawan’s debut release continues the extremely high standard set by Ben UFO and the Hessle crew and should not be taken lightly. The B side, ‘Iddy’, is the stand out of the two for me, unorthodox percussion, rolling B-Line, warm synths and some ghostly vocal snippets really set this one off! Totally fresh, headphone or dance floor ready, all round big release! A producer who isn’t from London, Bristol or Berlin really making shit happen, Blawan will definitely be a big hitter by the end of the year. You decide for yourself…
