Thank god it’s Friday! Phonica Records, Streets of Beige and Nonsense have teamed up to present an unmissable party happening tonight. Bringing North American talent to East London’s Visions Video Bar, this is a rare chance to see Ital who will be making his UK live debut alongside Protect-U, Trevor Jackson and Doldrums. Head here for more info.
Watch the clip below for a taster of Ital’s skewed take on house music:
Zomby has unveiled a new track in anticipation of his forthcoming 7-track EP. The track Labrynth, which you can listen to below, is taken from the ‘Nothing‘ EP which will be released on 28th November on 4AD. Can’t wait to hear the rest.
Teebs (Brainfeeder) has just unveiled some woozy goodness over on his Soundcloud page. Get lost in these new tracks ‘Everyone Alive Wants Answers’ and ‘Tumble Hands’:
Singer Jessie Ware has worked with Sampha, SBTRKT and Joker. Her latest track is a solo offering called Strangest Feeling, which sure as hell don’t disappoint. Forthcoming on PMR Records, 28th November, limited edition 10″ vinyl and digital.
Last night we played at The London Fields Pub for the first time, personally, I thought it was maximum vibes!!!! Big shout goes out Dark Arx, Lawson, Jasset, and Elsewhere for bringing those vibes and keeping the dancefloor busy all night. Here a few pics from last night, enjoy!
Went to the Four Tet Fabriclive album launch last Friday. The line-up was spectacular (Four Tet, Caribou, Jacques Greene, Hessle Audio takeover in Room 2, Lone, Lunice, Eglo takeover in Room 3, etc etc). Highlights for me were Lunice bringing the thugged out energy to a packed out Room 3, and the track below that ended Ben UFO‘s set in Room 2.
Sadly for us, it looks like the track’s not being released. Only a few lucky DJs (Ben UFO, Jackmaster, Skream…) have a copy of Addison Groove‘s remix of the motown classic Jimmy Mack by Martha & The Vandellas. The only clip I can find is this youtube upload, but I had to share:
We need more girls like Azealia Banks showin that foo Kreayshawn how it’s really done, nahmsayin. Azealia is only 19 years old. Listen to the track below where she’s teamed up with one of our favourite producers and DJs Lunice. And below that is a track she put out last year with Machinedrum on production. Out to Will Aspden for bringing this to my attention.

Found this in the archives, it was a live set from GET SOME 004 at The Gramaphone in Shoreditch, 2010. It’s a little hectic but I remember it being a lot of fun live and the crowd were vibing too. Peace.
I first heard this joint on rapper Jams F Kennedy‘s mixtape for Earnest Endeavours (which you can download here). Now the track by Widows (Jams F Kennedy and Bobby Evans) called Orchid is available for free ahead of the forthcoming Widows EP release on Earnest Endeavours records. The percussion is mad good and Jams’s Southern rapping style kills it. Listen and download here:
And Londoners who fancy an off-carnival BBQ jam, make sure you get tickets to the Earnest Endeavours party on Sunday 28th August where the one and only Dante Fried Chicken will be cookin up a storm alongside a dose of the finest beats courtesy of Alex Nut & Fatima, The Blessings and a secret headliner. More info here y’all.
