Rockstar Games does LA Confidential. Murder, lies, extortion, kidnapping, femme fatales, suits, trilby hats and plenty of bourbon.
As a cop, you need to be able to tell when people are lying, so it was vital Rockstar conveyed the actors’ performances and facial expressions accurately. As well as traditional motion capture technology, they used some fancy new 360-degree close-up cameras. Have a look see…
This game looks dope, but it might swallow a sizeable portion of your life so unless you’re a student or unemployed (which I have nothing against btw as at one time or another I have been both of these things), you might want to think twice about buying this game. Just sayin’.
There was a time when I looked forward to the next hood video to be put up on Youtube. But now they seem to be released with the same overwhelming regularity that a certain music blog releases mixes. Too much, saturation, more quantity , less quality. Some of these people can’t even rap! Anyway, thankfully via Merky Ace’stwitter I stumbled across these videos by a guy known only as wwwwud. Check them out they’re SICK.
I don’t speak Spanish and I don’t really know who Devendra Banhart is. But I do know that in this music video which is actually a four minute long advert for sunglass company Oliver Peoples, he gets to make out in a hot tub with his real-life girl Rebecca Schwartz. Some people eh…
(At the time of writing my YouTube was playing up, so you can go watch the video on NOWNESS here.)
My older cousins never tire of telling me that today’s ‘warehouse parties’ are an overpriced mockery of the raves they went to as teenagers. I suspect I’m not alone on this one. Piecing together the fragments of their ecstasy tainted tales, I reckon those parties would have looked something like this. BOSS VIDEO.
Today we launch our TV channel, GET SOME TV. Our first video is for talented East London MC, Obese.
His mixtape is 16 tracks of hard hitting Grime featuring guest appearances from Trim, Roachee and Nico Lindsay amongst others and production from Jerzy, J Beatz, Terror Danjah and more. All killer no filler and all for free. Go cop that here.
Roots Fans! London based crew, Reggae Roast have released their latest record, this time from Ghetto Priest. Counting selector David Rodigan amongst early championers of this tune, Evolution is a heavy-weight steppa with a concious lyrical message. On the flip are two remixes, my personal favourite is Richie Phoe’s dub version, but for those who like a more jump-up sound there’s a dubstep cut from rising producer Rack N Ruin.
Hailing from Warsaw, Poland, 23 year old Bartosz Kruczynsk AKA The Phantom announces himself with this very, very heavy 6 track EP. Three stand alone tracks backed up with three more remixes from the likes of Brenmar, Hackman and Zeppy Zep. Big up Senseless Records on this one!
Bristol’s BS5TDOT links up with Birmingham’s Gorilla Sawn-Off AKA G.Rilla. Hard.
Back in London, some good rappers coming out of North Weezy recently, in particular A Team‘s Squingy and K Koke. I must’ve listened to this cypher every day since it got put up. Squinge is the truth!
Money is my first love, and money keeps on taking the piss, in and out my life whenever she like…
