The ever-impeccable Magic Wire imprint returns with another great release from Neon Jung. The original is a kaleidoscopic slice of rave-kissed bumpin’ brilliance, while on the flip the label tap up Nathan Fake for a remix who turns in a dope otherworldly take on the original laying out the loose 2-step rhythm in a dense fog of hazy synths. Pick it up on vinyl and digital from 20th Feb.

Take Records return with a second free EP showcasing exclusive tracks from producers set to release on the label. The four-track EP features contributions from Locked Groove, Oblique, Ben Barratt and Epoque. Working the deeper end of the spectrum the EP moves from skittering 170 beats on Epoque’s ‘Lusa’ to visceral and emotive ambience on ‘Some Of Them Were Flying’ by Ben Barratt. My personal favourite is Locked Groove’s effort ‘Steriel’ though – he is definitely one to watch. You can grab the EP here. And if it takes your fancy, download the 1st installment here.
This Saturday Liminal Sounds, the party run by a couple of us here at Get Some, is returning to Rhythm Factory for our third installment. With sets from Randomer, Blackwax, Palace, Pedestrian and Richard Aki & Knuckles repping Get Some, it promises to be a good one.

Following their killer ‘Red Mask/Ovale‘ 12″ for Numbers at the tail-end of last year, they return with another great two-track EP, this time for Brighton-based label 877 Records. Judging on the quality of this, they are set to have a strong 2012…Listen below:
We got sent these two excellent mixes from Pearsall a while back. If you want to check out more of his mixes, as well as download versions of the two we are streaming below, head over to his blog Sonic Rampage.
Track taken from his forthcoming album, Personality, as well as being released as a single in its own right on 6th February. For full details on release schedule read Scuba’s interview with Resident Advisor, which will tell you everything you need to know.
Hotflush get off to a strong start in 2012 as they welcome Belgian newcomer Locked Groove to the fold. The title track is the pick for me, but all three tracks are the work of a promising new producer showcasing a deft amalgamation of deeper house, techno and garage influences. The EP is out on vinyl and digital on 16th Jan.

Joy Orbison has once again teamed up with designer Will Bankhead to start new label Hinge Finger. The pair, who worked together on previous imprint Doldrums, have typically not yet released many details of the new project. We do know any forthcoming releases will be distributed via Honest Jon’s, and going by the promo mix recently dropped by Joy Orbison we can presume the label’s focus will be on deep house and garage sounds. Hinge Finger is definitely one to follow closely in 2012.
You can stream and download Joy Orbison‘s promo mix here via The Trilogy Tapes.
After the storming success of their parties and sets in the second half of 2011, Kitsch and Sync have established themselves as serious ones to watch in 2012 for fans of deep/tech house. Now they have shown another side to their game by putting up these two productions on their soundcloud. These two tracks complement each other really well and show the spectrum of what the Kitsch & Sync vibe is all about. Keep your eyes on this lot, tipped for big things!
P.S. For the New Year’s Day raving crew, get yourselves down to K&S, info here.
Visionist (92 Points / NTS / 502 / Keysound / Left_Blank / Diskotopia) is one of my favourite producers right now. Check out this new one called Tropics which is being released in January next year as part of a new compilation curated by Diskotopia, Tokyo-based record label run by BD1982 and his crew.
Sumblime Caribou remix of Junior Boys latest track, You’ll Improve Me. The original is completely stripped down and reworked into this eight and a half minute trip through house, techno and electronica. Out now on Domino Records.
