Originally planned for the third of Objekt’s white labels hand stamped series, this was quickly snapped up by his friends, Pearson Sound, Ben UFO and Pangaea. This track is essential!
‘Cactus’ also appeared on Ben UFO’s Rinse FM mix CD, in the autumn of 2011.
Ahead of Rinse FM’s highly anticipated Boxing Day rave at London’s Fabric, set to feature almost every DJ on their current roster, The Ransom Note is keeping it Christmassy and offering an exclusive T.Williams track for absolutely nothing! With trademark choppy vocal and raucous bass line in full effect this is an addictive little rhythm – indulge!
Showcasing his tight mixing and on point selections, Hessle Audio’s Ben UFO streams a 15 minute portion of his installment in Rinse’s definitive mixtape series, via i-D Magazine.

Jam City – Arpjam VIP
Mister Monday – Future (Carl Craig Mix)

I was sceptical about this remix as I’m such a big fan of the original, but House legend Claude Vonstroke has brought in some serious vibes here without doing any injustice to the original mix. Listen to it here in a rip from the Night Slugs show on Rinse FM:
Rinse FM has just announced a partnership with Bleep.com. It’s a one-stop shop for Rinse and Tempa music, both digital and physical. Head over to rinse.bleep.com to check it out.
We have posted about Kashmir Kid before and posted up a mix or two and now his first release is finally available to buy! Kashmir Kid makes his debut release on Goldielocks’ label Gut Instinct with ‘Return To Bombay City’. Already gaining support from DJs such as Swindle, Redlight, Klose One and Seb Chew who gave it’s first airplay on Rinse FM just hours after hearing it.
Sarah has been chatting to us about KK for a while and we will be doing some bits with him in the near future, so watch this space! He is of British and Pakistani heritage, Kashmir Kid makes electronic music with an influence of Dubstep, UK Funky and Future Garage, all with his signature Eastern subtleties hidden within each track. A product of Pakistani immigration and Goldie’s Inner City Life set to a backdrop of post 7/7 London, KK makes gritty inner city music for those slightly more conscious of concepts and themes.
If you haven’t heard it already, give it a go here, it’s defo worth a listen!
Picked this up via Bass Ache – a huge archive of London pirate radio recordings over on Dubstepforum. Rinse, Kool, Deja, Dream, Pressure to name just a few! Get downloading…
10 Man Roll isJammer’s forthcoming single from his album, Jahmanji. Produced by Mumdance. Summer vibes!
An interesting concept next, a music video which doubles as the trailer for a film. In this instance Rubber, directed by Quinten Dupieux, OST produced by Mr Oizo and Gaspard Augé. Very banging electro, if that’s your thing.
Aloe Blacc (signed to Stone’s Throw), has one hell of a voice and sings real R’n'B, you know RHYTHM AND BLUES.. not that shit you hear on the radio. Anyway, this is not a rant, please check him out and if you like it support it. I also love grainy films like this. I believe the album is due for release September time.
There is also this glorious LIVE version…
Anthemic Dubstep bit from Rinse artist Katy B. Benga on buttons.
More Rinse dubstep, from Skream. I quite like the old skool rave rave, hardcore samples on this beat. I know there are a lot of haters/chinstrokers out there who like to knock him, but the guy is a massive talent and when it comes to dancefloor tracks, he knows what time it is. They’ve gone for an arty Creation-story inspired video, with stop motion animation, skinny models, and stuff like that.
Last but not least, head-nod hip-hop from DELS, stay tuned, this kid could go big! Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard on buttons. Quality video.
We got the interview Fact got the mix. So, read this then go cop Fact 135.
Who are you and what do you do?
I am Elijah I enjoy roller skating and Grime. I DJ on Rinse FM with my twin Skilliam
Where are you from and where are now?
I am from East London, and I still live in East London, but I get around.
When did you first get involved with music and what were you doing?
I started DJing 2 years ago, Grime Grime Grime and will never DJ anything else!
First record you bought? Last record you bought?
When I first started buying records I probably was buying a few at one time, I used to pick up stuff from Aftershock and Dumpvalve labels! Most of the stuff on both of those are classics!
What is your most memorable moment in music?
We have had loads of classic moments but a personal favourite for me is seeing the records we start playing and supporting coming out and then being played everywhere makes me proud.
Where do you get you inspiration from?
DJ wise, Logan Sama and Plastician but motivation to do it is because of the great producers and artists in the scene that get over looked by many!
What’s next for you/your label?
We have Terror Danjah Bipolar out now, and Quality Street out next which is a compilation with Terror Danjah/Silencer/SRC and Royal T on, then we have remixes of Air Bubble coming out as 003. A lot of work to put in!
If your career in music never was, what would you be doing now?
Dead office job, probably have loads more money and go to sleep at reasonable times, but a lot less fun.
Who should we be watching in 2010?
Swindle, Terror Danjah, SRC
And finally, please complete the following sentence…
GET SOME… Pussy
