Shortstuff’s ‘Mickey Pearce’ alter ego was the first artist to release on Blunted Robots, way back in 2009. Since then he’s been on the rob, abusing the work of people more fortunate than himself, and passing it off as his own.
It only seemed right to profit from his crimes, so while he was out, ST Holdings snuck into Mickey’s bedsit and stole a fresh EP from his hard drive.
‘Mickey’s Car Boot’ gathers some of the biggest cuts that have done the rounds of late, uncluding a bootleg of Ms. Dynamite’s ‘What You Talkin’ About?’ that has been played by everyone from Rob Da Bank to Modeselektor.
The EP will be available as the first in a new series of FREE downloads from the new Blunted Robots website.
Head there now and nab yourself a slice of Blunt Robotics:
Elevator Music launched at fabric earlier this month at the Numbers party. Their first compilation CD is released on the 8th February and features exclusive tracks from some of the most exiting players in the 140 bpm genre smashing bass music scene. I swear we should just call it 140 and be done with the whole ‘future tech-step psy-jungle funky wonk’ ridiculousness. Artists read like a who to watch for in 2010 list: Hot City, xxxy, Untold, Julio Bashmore and many, many more.
