A big release form a label that went about their business in a very admirable fashion last year, L2S have dropped Whistla‘s latest EP, Pillowtalk. Whistla was one of the biggest players in the revival of 2-Step in 2010 but it is the remixes of this track which are the real deal on this release. Duncan Powell’s (a GET SOME favourite) version is a great refix, straight up house & garage, as it should be. The rest of the remixes come from Submerse, VVV, Para, KMA, Mr Pud and Itchy Robot. Love this guy! I think Duncan Powell used to be on of MJ Cole’s sound engineers, he obviously picked up a few things along the way…
VVV – BACK TO LIFE
Another great producer with a nod to the old school. The thing that is most interesting about this guy is that he is from Austin, Texas. The Us is definitely doing it right now…
XXXY – SING WITH US
Hailing form Manchester, XXXY (pronounced EXY?) has managed to fuse Funky, Dubstep, 2-Step and house and is one to watch over the next twelve months too…

I really think this guy is one of the most underrated producers around. This track is from a colossal EP called the ‘Pangaea EP’ and is a belter. I could have filled this whole list with Pangaea productions, more of the same please…

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
It has been a long 5 weeks in the sun, recharging my batteries and playing some tunes! Lots of stories and lots of fun. NYE was a banger in Koh Chang, and being on national radio in Bangkok was ace!
If you follow OUZO on NOT READY this is where you will find OUZO from now on. NOT READY is moving in a different direction and will be a side project for me form now on. Expect music reviews, recommendations, mixes and the standard OUZO vibes coming soon. I have 3 HUGE compilations from Fabric that I’ll be writing about over the next week.
